Legal
Website Terms
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Thurodale Inc. (“Thurodale”).
2. Not legal advice
Thurodale provides corporate administration, governance and execution support. Thurodale is not a law firm and does not provide legal, tax, accounting or other regulated professional advice through this website or in response to an inquiry. Although Thurodale’s principal is a lawyer, Thurodale does not provide legal services. If you need legal advice, consult independent legal counsel.
3. No professional relationship
Using this website, or contacting Thurodale through it or by email, does not create a solicitor-client, fiduciary or other professional relationship, and does not create any duty to act for you. A relationship with Thurodale exists only under a written engagement agreement signed by both parties.
4. No confidentiality in inquiries
Email and website communications may not be secure and are not treated as confidential or privileged. Please do not send confidential, sensitive or time-sensitive information in an initial inquiry. We will arrange a suitable way to share it once an engagement is under discussion.
5. General information only
The content of this website is general information about Thurodale. It is not advice, may not be current, and should not be relied on.
6. Ownership
The website, its design and artwork, and the names “Thurodale” and its logo belong to Thurodale or its licensors. Please do not reproduce or use them without written permission.
7. Clients
If you are a client, your engagement agreement governs the services and any client portal or workspace. If it conflicts with these terms, the engagement agreement prevails.
8. Changes and law
We may update these terms by posting a new version. They are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Privacy Notice
Who is responsible
Thurodale Inc. is responsible for personal information handled through this website. Our privacy contact is Privacy Officer, at privacy@thurodale.com.
What we collect
- Inquiries. When you email us (for example, through the “Inquire” link), we receive what you send: typically your name, email address, organization and message.
- Technical data. Our website host, GitHub Pages, logs each visitor’s IP address for security purposes. We do not collect other information about visitors.
Why we use it
To respond to your inquiry, to assess whether and how we can help, to keep a record of the inquiry, and to meet legal obligations.
Who else may handle it
Our email and IT service providers, and professional advisers where needed. Some of these may store or process information outside Ontario or outside Canada. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools. The website loads its fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Clients
If you become a client, how we handle information for the engagement is set out in your engagement agreement. The Client Login link takes you to a separate, access-controlled workspace.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for 12 months and then deleted. Information about clients is kept as set out in the engagement agreement and as the law requires.
Your rights and complaints
You may ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or raise a concern, by writing to privacy@thurodale.com. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
We may update this notice by posting a new version with a new date.
