Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
Last updated: March 23, 2026
This notice describes Thurodale’s approach to compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (“CASL”) in connection with commercial electronic messages and related electronic communications.
1. Our commitment
Thurodale Inc. (“Thurodale”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to complying with applicable requirements relating to commercial electronic messages.
Where CASL applies, our approach is intended to ensure that commercial electronic messages are sent only where there is an appropriate legal basis to do so, including consent where required or where another lawful basis or exception applies.
CASL regulates commercial electronic messages and generally requires consent unless an exception applies, along with identification information and an unsubscribe mechanism where required.
2. Communications that may be sent
Thurodale may send communications including:
- insights, updates and publications;
- invitations to events, briefings or similar activities;
- communications relating to our services or capabilities;
- responses to enquiries or requests; and
- administrative or relationship-management communications.
Whether a particular message is subject to CASL will depend on its content, purpose, recipient and the surrounding circumstances.
3. Consent
Where consent is required by law before sending a commercial electronic message, Thurodale seeks to obtain that consent.
Consent may be:
- express, including where an individual actively subscribes or opts in; or
- implied, where permitted by law.
Thurodale seeks to maintain records of consent where appropriate.
If you provide us with your email address through a website form or otherwise request information from us, we may use that information to respond to your request. Where you separately opt in to receive insights, updates or other communications, that consent will be treated distinctly from your enquiry.
That is why your contact form should include a separate optional checkbox for marketing or update communications, rather than combining enquiry response consent with marketing consent.
4. Identification and unsubscribe
Where required, commercial electronic messages sent by Thurodale will:
- identify Thurodale as the sender;
- include contact information; and
- contain an unsubscribe mechanism that allows recipients to withdraw consent.
Unsubscribe requests will be processed as required by applicable law.
5. Withdrawal of consent
You may withdraw your consent to receive commercial electronic messages from Thurodale at any time by:
- using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication; or
- contacting us directly.
Withdrawal of consent will not affect communications that are not subject to consent requirements, including certain transactional, administrative or service-related communications where permitted by law.
6. Internal practices
Thurodale’s CASL compliance practices may include:
- obtaining and recording consent where appropriate;
- distinguishing between enquiry-related communications and marketing communications;
- including identification and unsubscribe information where required; and
- reviewing communication practices periodically.
7. Updates to this CASL Notice
Thurodale may amend or update this CASL Notice from time to time. The current version will be posted on the website and will take effect when posted, unless otherwise indicated.
